Firstfruits

Hello, Bride of Christ,

As we celebrate Passover, let us reflect on the powerful fulfillment of the Messiah revealed through His work on the cross. Passover and Resurrection Day are not separate events, but one continuous love story.

Jesus, our Passover Lamb, came just as John the Baptist declared—to take away the sin of the world. What was given to Israel as a feast to remember God’s deliverance from slavery has now, through Christ, been extended to the whole world by the work of the cross.

On Palm Sunday, Jesus entered Jerusalem as the people cried out, “Hosanna,” asking Him to save them. This occurred at the same time the Passover lambs were being inspected and found without blemish—worthy for sacrifice. In the same way, Jesus was revealed as the spotless Lamb.

At Passover, the lamb is slain and deliverance is remembered. Jesus observed this with His disciples, and then He Himself was crucified—pouring out His blood to satisfy God’s wrath and redeem humanity from sin. He was laid in a tomb.

As it is written in Leviticus 23:11–12 (NKJV):
“He shall wave the sheaf before the Lord, to be accepted on your behalf; on the day after the Sabbath the priest shall wave it. And you shall offer on that day, when you wave the sheaf, a male lamb of the first year, without blemish, as a burnt offering to the Lord.”

Then, on the third day, as Paul declares in 1 Corinthians 15:20, Christ rose from the dead and became the firstfruits. In this, Jesus fulfilled the appointed time—uniting Passover and Resurrection Day in one beautiful story of redemption.

May you have a blessed month as you remember the One who is both our Passover Lamb and our Firstfruits. May you live in gratitude for His sacrificial death, be empowered by His resurrection, and faithfully await His return.
