Everywhere you look you see lack, danger, uncertainty, unreliability, hopelessness, impossibilities?

Ever wonder what it really means to be a disciple of Jesus Christ? When I first heard the term disciple I thought it was too hard of a task and too holy of a task for me to be able to fulfill it, because I was no Peter, James, John or Matthew!

Ever think the phrase "I will pray about it" is over used within the Christian community? Or if people actually prayed for as many times as you hear the phrase more answers would be given, revival would occur, less depressing events would occur, since prayer is so powerful?!

Join me today in the book of Daniel to get a glimpse of a man who regardless of the great discrepancies between what his community was claiming and actually doing knew the power of prayer and more importantly the character of His God to which he prayed.

Good vs Bad, Light vs Darkness, Hero vs Villain, Spirit vs Flesh... it is an age old battle captured in some of the best movies and books we all love. The amazing thing about it is there is truth within the battle. It is not fiction. It is not a made up battle in someone's mind.

In fact, it started back in beginning when God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit made all of creation and Eve was tempted in the garden by Satan. It continues to today for as, the apostle Paul reminds us in Ephesians 6:12 "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world rulers of this darkness, against spiritual forces of evil in the heavens."

There is though one epic account of this battle I would like to share with you, and it could be found in the book of Obadiah.

Another day starts...My children come rushing in to my dark room to crawl into my bed to begin to wiggle. Then the request come flooding in... can you get me a bottle? Can you get me my blanket? I am cold. Can you make me breakfast? Can you...? Keep in mind this happens typically between 5-6am every morning! Did I tell you I am not a morning person. Well sometimes starting my day in such matter causes me to get disheveled. So much so I forget who I am and who I belong to.
